On February 18, a reception was held at the residence of UK Ambassador John Gallagher for the members of the first group who successfully completed the “Researcher Connect” online course.

The event was also attended by Adde Hovasapian, Director of the British Council Armenia, which initiated the professional course, and Sargis Hayotsyan, Chairman of the Higher Education and Science Committee.

As a reminder, from February 3 to 14, for the first time, 25 Armenian researchers from more than 10 universities and research institutions participated in the “Researcher Connect” professional online course. Participants were selected through a highly competitive process: out of nearly 100 applications, the top 25 were chosen.

During the official closing ceremony of the course, participants shared their impressions from the intensive professional training, expressed their enthusiasm and innovative ideas, and had the opportunity to strengthen the new collaborative connections formed during the course.

The course is aimed at supporting both early-career and experienced researchers in Armenia by:

  • developing excellent communication skills in an international, multicultural academic environment,

  • making their scientific outcomes more accessible for education and policy development, and

  • promoting the visibility and proactive engagement of the Armenian scientific community not only regionally but also on a global scale.

It should be noted that on January 31, ahead of the course launch, the group was hosted by the Higher Education and Science Committee. During this meeting, participants had the chance to get to know each other, learn about the course procedures, and share their expectations and suggestions.
